Our records are not totally complete in this branch but here they are: Henry's father was William N. Fargo, b.1808 in Wyoming County, Warsaw, NY. His mother was Sarah A. Rich. William N. was the child of Silas C. Fargo, b.6/15/1784 in Montville, CT. Silas died in Warsaw, NY. He had married Catharine Whiting and they were married on 3/2/1806 in Warsaw, and had 10 children. Silas C. was the son of Nehemiah Fargo, b.1/10/1764 in Bozrah, CT, d.10/13/1838 in Warsaw, NY.

From A History of Wyoming County, New York

Silas' marriage to Catharine Whiting was the first wedding performed in Warsaw.

Silas and his wife were in Fond du Lac where their son William lived (newly married on the 1860 census, being 22 and his wife 17.) He purchased land in Wisconsin in 1848, according to land records.

Silas and Catherine were the first couple married in Warsaw, NY. The marriage was solemnized by Elizur Webster, Esq. the first settler and first justice of the Peace in Warsaw township - then a part of Batavia.

Stayed in Warsaw until 1867 when he moved to Fond du Lac, Wisc. Silas and Catherine were connected with the Methodist Church in Warsaw for many years.

Silas was an "Overseer of the Poor" in 1837, with David Fargo. He bought land from E. Webster in 1803 - 114 acres in lot 27.

Silas was at the first meeting of the Warsaw Pioneer's in 1850 and reported that he and his father were the first to pass on the old Buffalo Road with a wagon.

He spent time in Walworth Co, Wisconsin, where his name appears as grantor to Allen Fargo (Vol 11:397), who then was grantor of the land to Alpheus W. Fargo (Vol 11:399)

From a newsclipping pasted in the bible of Smith and Angeline Fargo Bibbins

"___d-hearted father, husband and neighbor. About six weeks ago he fell on the walk and recieved injuries that hastened his death.

But for that he might have lived several years - perhaps to be 100 years old. The funeral took place Tuesday, the service being preached by the Rev. Mr. Cowles. Mr Fargo lived to see his children's children's children's children. He has lived under the Administration of all Presidents. He was born before the Revolutionary war was over.

He was the father of Wm. N. Fargo, the Grandfather of Capt. W. A. Fargo, Matt and H.B. Fargo and of Mrs. C.L. Pierce of this city." (Presumably Warsaw, NY)
