In the spring of 1804, a son of Sterling Stearns, two years old, died at Judge Webster's and was buried on this spot [the Warsaw Village Pioneer Cemetery] in the forest. A young son of Nehemiah Fargo was drowned in the Oatka Creek the ensuing fall and was buried in the same ground. The third burial was that of Dwight Noble, the first adult person who died in Warsaw in January 1807.

Despite the known history, the burial of Alpheus Fargo in the Warsaw Village Pioneer Cemetery is not recorded in the official records. There is no headstone for him.

In our visit to Warsaw in 2001, we observed the creek meanders through the valley. Numerous bridges were built to cross it. A reference to widening of at least one bridge to accommodate rising of the creek at flood times was found.
