Often known as Shaky. 1940 - With parents at Pletcher Road, Lewiston, Niagara, New York. Sherley [sic] BUTTERY, aged 3, born in New York. 2003 - Newspaper Clipping, Obituary: Ransomville, Shirley A. "Shakey" Chamberlain, age 66, of Dickersonville Rd, Ransomville, NY died Friday, April 11, 2003 at her residence after a long illness. Mrs Chamberlain was born on April 15, 1936 in Lewiston, NY, the daughter of the late Wilbur and Edith M. (Carter) Buttery and lived in Ransomville for the past 42 years. She was a 1955 graduate of Lewiston Porter high School and married Kenneth L. Chamberlain on April 17, 1954. Mrs Chamberlain was an assembly line worker at Harrison-Delphi Thermal Systems in Lockport for over 15 years, retiring in 1975. She was a former member of Rebekah Lodge in Youngstown and enjoyed stock car racing, writing poems, scratch of lottery tickets, being friends and family and bird watching. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Sharon Whyte of Niagara Falls, NY, Sandra (Joseph) Jastzemski and Neal Chamberlain both of Ransomville; her brothers, Morris "Mike" (Anna) Buttery and Gerald (Joanne) Buttery both of Ransomville; her grandchildren, Jason and Jody Jastzemski, and Brian Whyte; and her brother-in-law, Keith Shaw of Yougstown. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, David C. Chemberlain; her sisters, Lois E. Shaw and Martha Willms; and a brother, Paul Buttery.... Funeral services will be held Monday, April 14 at 2pm in the [Hardison] Funeral Home, with the Rev Jacob Denny officiating. Burial will be in North Ridge Cemetery, Church Rd, Town of Cambria. |
