1998 - Newspaper Clipping, Obituary: Edith M. Buttery. Owned Buttery's Restaurant for 15 years. Edith M. Buttery, 84, of the Niagara geriatric Center, formerly of Lake Road in Youngstown, died Thursday (Feb 12, 1998) in the center after a lengthy illness. She was born Aug 24, 1913, in Youngstown, the daughter of Gilbert and Myra (Moss) Carter. She graduated from Youngstown High School in 1932. She owned and operated Buttery's restaurant on Blairville Road in Youngstown for 15 years. She then worked at Comerford's Riverview restaurant on Main Street in Youngstown, for five years. She retired in 1965. Mrs Buttery joined the Rosedale Rebekah Lodge 386, North Tonawanda, in September 1931. She was a past noble grand of the Rebekah Lodge 459, Youngstown, and was a past district deputy of Rebekah Lodge. She was a member of Ivy Rebekah Lodge 9, Lockport, and a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown, She enjoyed playing bingo. She is survived by two sons, Morris "Mike" Buttery and Gerald Buttery, both of Ransomville; two daughter, Shirley Chamberlain of Ransomville and Lois Shaw of Youngstown; a brother, Gilbert Carter Jr. of Lake Monroe, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the widow of Wilbur Buttery, who died in 1983, the mother of the late Martha Willms and Paul Buttery, and the sister of the late Robert carter, James Carter, Ida Davey Lamb and Bernice Boos…. Burial will be in the Riverdale Cemetery, Lewistown.
