no date [ca. 1873], Ada Wyckoff Hopkins wrote her cousin Jane Love: "I received a letter from Sarah Dolby in which she writes that Aunt Polly [widow of Uncle Joseph Jones] has sold their farm and are going to move to Kansas near Coffeeville.* Joseph [Aunt Polly's son] is there now / has bought an improved farm. There is some talk of Sallie [Aunt Polly's dau. Sarah?] marrying. They sold the farm for $4000. Sale bill $1000. broke up housekeeping last fall / spent the winter in Springfield / are now at Browns. Evan Watts, wife & one child are dead. Joel Watts and 2 of his children have joined the church at Portland, isnt that good news. Jemima Watts is married to a Mr. Cox / he is poor in worlds goods, but is a good man. Sallie writes, (?)Nimar has very poor health"

MRS. DALBEY DEAD AT HOME, MUNCIE (Special to the Democrat) Muncie, Ill., Jan. 6 -- Mrs. Sarah Dalbey, wife of Samuel Dalbey, died at her home north of Muncie, last night about 7 o'clock. She was 78 years old. The funeral will occur Tuesday morning at the Baptist church at 11 o'clock by Rev. Strickland, pastor.
