Sarah Florinda Coup and Samuel D. Sinclair were living in Mount Pleasant, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania in 1866 when Samuel left home and was never seen again by the family. She divorced him by 1867. Sarah and her four children, with her mother, Anna Maria Buttermore, moved to Wayne County, Ohio in 1867. Two of Sarah's brothers were living in Orrville at the time. She supported her family by working as a seamstress. Her mother, Anna, had some income of her own. Sarah married George Sonnedecker in 1871. Sarah, George and her mother lived on the Sonnedecker farm in Wayne Township, Wayne County, Ohio. He had gone to California Gold Rush in 1849. He often showed the grandchildren several gold nuggets he brought back from California. Sade never had an easy life, but according to family stories nothing was able to quench her spirits. She attended Geyer's Chapel United Brethren Church at Golden Corners in Canaan in Wayne County, Ohio.
