Marriage license says name was Sarah Bell Burt of Kerr Twp., age 17 years, and that her mother Emily Burt (widow) gave permission.

Vermilion Co. Marriage Abstracts, 1826-1874 list a Thomas Birte marrying Emily D. Stonestreet on 3 JUN 1851.

1860 census (Vermilion/Champaign Co.?), #268, lists a "Bell S." as the daughter of "Solomon Burke and Emma E. ______". Solomon was born 1827/28 in OH, and was a printer. Emma was born 1833/34 in OH. Other children included John C., born 1852/53 in OH, and Sadie, born 1857/60 in OH. Also lists Araminda Smoot, 19, OH.

Obit: "Mrs. Sarabelle Fairchild, wife of E. A. Fairchild, of near Battle Ground died at 1:15 Wednesday at her home, after an illness of two years. She was 59 years old. She is survived by her husband and three children, Mrs. Susie Cleaver of Milford, Ill., Charles A. Fairchild of Battle Ground and Mrs. Florence Schreckinghaust, of Lafayette. Nine grandchildren and two brothers, Isaac Birt of Ludlow, Ill., and Henry Birt of West Lafayette. The funeral services will be conducted from the residence, Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Pengilly will officiate and burial will be in the Battle Ground cemetery." (Thursday, Jan 8, 1920)
