Facts and Events
Name Sarah Bigg
Gender Female
Marriage 22 May 1780 Caddington, Bedfordshire, Englandto Richard Hall

Sarah Bigg's origins have yet to be established. She was the daughter of a farmer named William Bigg (judging by his will, written in 1792) but no baptism has been found for her, nor her two siblings named in the will.

Sarah's first confirmed sighting is on 22nd May 1780 when she married Richard Hall at Caddington in Bedfordshire. Sarah and Richard are known to have had at least two children, but neither appears to have been baptised as an infant, suggesting the family may have been non-conformist. They had a daughter Elizabeth who was said to be born in 1785, but was not baptised until her wedding day in 1803 in Caddington. They also had a daughter Sarah Bigg Hall baptised aged seven in 1795 at St Paul's Walden in Hertfordshire, about ten miles east of Caddington. It is not clear what happened to Sarah and Richard after having their two daughters. Sarah's father wrote his will in May 1792, describing himself as a farmer of Caddington Bury. He left £20 to his son-in-law Richard Hall, but does not explicitly name his daughter Sarah. It is therefore reasonably likely that Sarah had died some time between about 1787 and 1792.
