He is listed next to Joseph and Ann Ross. The 1860 census shows Samuel's son John and wife Martha living with him. His wife is not listed and has probably died. The US census for 1840 says the household includes 1 male age 10-15, 1 male age 15-20, 1 male age 20-30. 1 male age 30-40,and 1 male age 50-60; females include 1 female under age 5 and 2 females ages 15-20.
