Samuel and his children, as well as the date of Samuel's death, are given in the Scovil genealogy.[1] This does not provide any information about his wife. Samuel was recorded on the 1850 federal census as head of household in Leyden, Lewis County, New York. The household consisted of Samuel, age 53, Dorinda, age 52, both born in Connecticut, and Cyrus, age15, Thomas age 13, Sarah, age 11 and Asher [his father]. The children were all born in New York.[2]
