"Martha Scovil ... married (date not known) Asher Wetmore, then of Leyden, N.Y., perhpas son of Samuel and Anne (Canfield) Wetmore, who were residents of Haddam in 1776; less probably son of Amos and Rachel (Parsons) Wetmore of Middletwon and Whitestown, N.Y., born Dec 10, 1774." We know from other sources that this Amos was not the son of Amos and Rachel (Parsons) Wetmore. See them for proof of their marriage.
