Facts and Events
Guy Braught married Dora Stice (b.1887)on 13 Sep 1913 at Oswego,KS. See 1900 KS Soundex (Samuel Braught) and Labette Co. (Oswego) Marriage License #9028 where he was age 34 from Oswego and she was age 26 from Oswego. Samuel Guy should have WWI Draft Registration data. See Newton Baker Thrapp will at Putnam Co.,OH; see pension and war reports; see Chambers records of Gilboa,OH. See 1850 Hancock Co., OH Census Roll 256a, pg. 400 (Sep 16) shows: Samuel Braucht, 25, farmer, born PA, property value $800; Rachel, 21 born OH, Eliz, age 1, Jacob, age 5/12. -- BUT THIS IS NOT THE SAME SAM & RACHEL!- see that correct family at about same years in adjacent Hancock Co., OH in Jacob Braucht line, son of David Braucht and Mary Ann Sprecher. One more instance of how close the several lines of Braughts were at least up to the civil war. I encountered so many records listing this Samuel Guy Braught as just Guy Braught that I almost changed my file name for him to Guy Braught, which might also minimize future confusions. See 16 Jun 1900 Census of Richland Twsp, Labette Co., KS with Samuel G., son of Samuel M. and Rachel T., white male, born Aug. 1879, age 20, single, farm laborer. References
