Ruth Isabel Klemme, daughter of William and Alma Rutstatas Last, was born on June 3, 1909 at Hubbard, Iowa. On Monday, November 30, 1981 she died at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital at Mason City, Iowa. She attained the age of 72 years, 5 months and 27 days. On March 21, 1934 she was united in marriage with Walter Klemme at Manchester, Iowa and for the past 45 years the couple has lived on their farm south of Alden, Iowa. Ruth graduated from Hubbard Hight School and received her teacher's training at Ellsworth College at Iowa Falls. She was a devoted help-mate and mother to her family. Ruth has been a long time member of Immanuel-Memorial United Church of Christ in Alden. She is survived by her husband, Walter, of Alden, Iowa; three sons, Franklin D. Klemme of Alden, Iowa; William H. Klemme of Alden, Iowa; Wayne E. Klemme of Rockford, Illinois; three daughters, Joyce L. Noren of Pequot Lakes, Minnestoa; Dorthy Burns of Boone, Iowa; Jean E. Rainbow of St. Louis Park, Minnesota; six grandchildren; two brothers, Wallace Last and Leonard Last, both of Hubbard, Iowa; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Alma Last, one daughter, Marjorie, and one brother, Henry William Last. The family of Ruth Klemme would like to thank everyone for the acts of kindness and expressions of sympathy. A time of fellowship and lunch will be held at the church basement following the service at the cemetery. You are all invited to attend. Time and place of services are Thursday, December 3, 1981 at 1:00 p.m. at Immanuel-Memorial United Church of Christ in Alden, Iowa with Rev. Robert Miller officating. Casket bearers will be Roger Last, Carroll Last, Larry Last, Everett Harms, Elmer Ellingson and Robert G. Ites. Interment will follow at Hubbard Cemetery, Hubbard, Iowa.
