Franklin Delano Klemme was born on Tuesday; July 10, 1934, in Iowa Falls; Hardin County, Iowa. Franklin graduated from the Alden Community School in 1952 and then attended Dairy Husbandry of Iowa State University. Franklin later joined the US Army in 1957 where he was stationed in Ft. Lewis, Washington. After the Army, Franklin became a self-employed dairy farmer for many years and was involved in the Dairy Herd Improvement Association. Franklin was also involved with the Masonic Lodge in both Iowa Falls and Alden. Franklin was united in marriage to Barbara Brass on Saturday; November 8, 1975 at the United Church of Christ in Alden, Iowa. Franklin Delano Klemme, age 75, passed away on Sunday; March 21, 2010 at the Heritage Care Center in Iowa Falls, Iowa. Those left to mourn his passing are: His wife, Barbara Klemme, of Alden; three daughters Rebecca Klemme, of St. Louis, Missouri, Glenda (Paul) Smith, of Owatonna, Minnesota, Janet Klemme, of Ames, Iowa; two brothers William Klemme, of Alden, Iowa, and Wayne Klemme, of Roscoe, Illinois; three sisters Joyce Noren (Roger Langenbaugh), of Pequot Lakes, Minnesota, Dorothy (Marlyn) Burns, of Mesa, Arizona, and Jean (Pat) Rainbow, of Golden Valley, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Ruth, and infant sister Marjorie. May they rest in peace. Visitation will be from: 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday; March 23, 2010 at the Surls Funeral Home in Alden. Funeral services will begin at: 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday; March 24, 2010 at the Immanuel Memorial UCC in Alden with Interment at the Union Cemetery in Iowa Falls.
