Wallace E. Last, 91, of Alden, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2016 at his home. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at the United Methodist Church in Alden. Burial will be at the Northlawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Tuesday, August 9 at the church. Woodley Funeral Home, LLC of Iowa Falls is caring for Wallace and his family. 641-648-7700.

Wallace Ellsworth Last was born on June 19, 1925 in Iowa Falls, Iowa to William and Alma (Rutsatz) Last. He attended Fisher School. In October of 1949 he was united in marriage to Lola Hunt in Dodge Center, MN. Wallace farmed during numerous stages of his life. He also worked as a welder in the ship yards in Seattle, WA. Later he worked for the State of Iowa Road Maintenance, Piel Mfg. in Hubbard and the Hardin County Road Maintenance Department. During later years Wallace enjoyed retirement as well as his puppy dogs, especially his baby, Princess.

Wallace Last is survived by his loving wife, Lola Last of Alden, Iowa; daughter, Patrice Granzow of Eldora, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Tamara Last of Alden, Iowa; grandchildren: Melinda (Tim) Gelles, Sena McGrunder, Chad (Carrie) Last, Jeffrey Granzow, Matthew Granzow, Tracy (Josh) Schoggins and Robin (Zach) Maas; fifteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and numerous other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter and son-in-law, Ruth Anne and David Sinn; a son, Roger Last; son in-law, Roger Granzow; brothers, Henry Last and Leonard Last; one sister, Ruth Klemme and a grandson, Ronnie Meyer.
