    Funeral services for Russell Clinton Frakes were held Friday, June 9, at 10:30 a.m. in Winter Haven, Fla.

    Mr. Frakes was born in Steele on November 25, 1902, and attended the Steele Schools, graduating with the first graduating class of Steele in 1918. After graduation from Bowen Institute of Pharmacy, he was employed at Workman's Drug Store in Steele until 1927 when he and his family moved to St. Louis where he worked for the Walgreen Company for five years. After returning to Steele, he was associated with Dr. J. W. Robbins for a time, and in 1934, he went into partnership with A.J. Overturf in the City Drug Store. Prior to his move to Florida, Mr. Frakes was an active partner in Frakes-Jones Drug Store.

    The son of the late Albert G. and Ella Frakes, he was married to the former Mary Alexander. Mr. Frakes died June 7, 1972.

    In addition to his widow, he leaves one son, Tom Ray Frakes of Winter Haven; one daughter, Pattye Frakes Alexander of Atlanta, Ga.; and five grandchildren.

    Interment was in Winter Haven.
