    Funeral services were held on Friday, May 16, at the Church of Christ in Steele for Mrs. Ella Strickland, a lifelong resident of this community.

    She was born February 28, 1882, and died May 14, 1952. She passed away in her sleep of a heart attack at the home of a son, whom she was visiting. Her age was 70 years, 2 months, and 16 days.

    Rev. J. R. Braswell officiated at the services and interment was in Frakes Cemetery near Steele, and German Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
    She leaves 3 sons, Russell and Tommie Frakes of Steele, and Raymond Frakes of Chicago, Ill., one daughter, Mrs. Ruby Owens of Bellaire, Mich.; 1 step-son, Loman Strickland of St. Louis; 1 step-daughter, Mrs. Dollie Stevenson of Doniphan, Mo.; and seven grandchildren.
