    Funeral services were conducted in Chicago, Ill., last week for Raymond Frakes, a former resident of Steele who passed away last Monday a heart attack.

    Mr. Frakes was born December 6, 1904, on a farm near Steele, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert G. Frakes. He was reared here and moved to Chicago about 20 years ago. Ray, as he was known in and around Steele was married to Miss Elma Alexander, a local girl, on June 27, 1925, and to this union was born one son, Joe, who lives in Atlanta, Georgia. He had been employed by the Walgreen Drug Company for the past 26 years, and was serving as Director of Warehousing. He was 49 years, 8 months and 8 days old at the time of death, which occurred at the Ravenwood Hospital on June 14th.

    Funeral services were conducted from the Schmitt Funeral Home on Thursday morning, June 17th, 1954with a Rev. Sauer officiating. Burial was made at the Irving Park Cemetery.

    Survivors are: his wife, Mrs. Elma Frakes; one son, Joe Frakes of Atlanta, Ga.; two grandchildren, Carol and Barbara Frakes; two brothers, Russell and Tommy Frakes of Steele; one sister, Mrs. Ruby Owen of Barryton, Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.
