Captain Ross Morris was born on 14 May 1879 in Carthage (Hamilton County), Ohio. He married Lillian by 1920. Lillian was born ca. 1893 in Tennessee. In his mother’s will he is referred to as Captain R. Morris. The 1924 Cincinnati City Directory says that he lived in Hamilton Ohio and worked as a superintendent. Later married Luetta. He was a superintendent with the State Highway Department. A family biographer describes him as, “a very inventive person, but out of the mainstream of the family”. He died on 24 May 1953 at Russell’s Point (Logan County), Ohio. He is buried at Rose Hill Cemetery in Hamilton (Butler County), Ohio.
