I thought Rose's maiden name was ORENSTEIN - THE LANDSMAN LINE SAYS THAT IT WAS GROSSMAN!!!
Per John Hymo "Thanks for the info. I believe that my dad told me that Adolph was from Budapest, the capital of Hungary, and that Rose was from Prague, which is now in the Czech Republic. I remember that he tried to find a recipe of something that Rose used to make. He said he couldn't find it in a recipe book of Hungarian food but that he did find it in a recipe book of Czech food."
Rose listed Magyar as her native language, but this is another term for Hungarian.
Per Bruce Bilder - Bruce told me today (5/8/2010) that Rose took him aside one day and wanted to give him information on her family ancestors. He remembers her telling him that her aunt was the midwife to Franz Joseph Court and once a month she would be allowed to come visit her family and would be brought by the royal coach. Rose also advised Bruce to become a ob/gyn as it was in his blood. He did become a doctor, but works in trauma and ER's.+
