Ronald V. Scardino, 47, of Wayne, Neb., formerly of Dubuque, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2001, at home of an apparent heart attack. Chapel services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., Dubuque, where friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today. Burial of the cremated remains will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Dubuque, at a later date. Mr. Scardino was self- employed as a contractor. He was born on Nov. 3, 1954, in Dubuque, son of Vincent J. and Shirley M. (Barrett) Scardino. He married Janelle Close on July 26, 1980, at Nativity Catholic Church, Dubuque. He was a graduate of Dubuque Senior High School. He enjoyed hunting and playing golf. Surviving are his ex-wife, Janelle Scardino, of Wayne; a son, Chad Scardino, of Wayne; a granddaughter; his mother, Shirley M. Scardino, of Dubuque; two sisters, Vicki L. (Ron) Hansen, of East Dubuque, Ill., and Janice S. (Craig) Hingtgen, of Dubuque; and a brother, Chuck A. (Jane) Scardino, of Dubuque. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dean M. Scardino, on Jan. 20, 1984, and Randy J. Scardino, on March 3, 1996. A Ronald V. Scardino Memorial Fund has been established.
