Richard and his widowed mother lived together as his brother Thomas and his baby sister, Charlotte, died in childhood. Richard fell in love with Sarah Morse who was born at Narberth, Pembroke. Grandmother Catherine Eynon Lewis was fond and proud of her father, Richard Eynon and described him as being tall and handsome. He was slender with a fair complexion and large clear blue eyes. He was a kind and loving husband and father to his family. He was a collier and worked in the coal mine at Landshipping. After their marriage they lived in Landshipping. After their 4th child was born they moved to Myrthyr Tidfil, Glamorganshire where their son William was born in 1841. They were listed in the 1841 census?. Soon after, Richard moved his family back to Landshipping where Catherine and Jane Esther were born. In 1851 they went back to Myrthyr Tidfil and were listed in the 1851 Census. Their son, John was born a few months after the census, Sep 16, 1851 in Dowlais, Glamorgan. They were taught the gospel by the first missionaries to South Wales. Thomas Eynon said that John Taylor baptized Richard Eynon and some of his children, including Thomas. The Branch Mission records states that Pres. George Adams presided over the Rymney Branch near Bedwelty, Monmouth. He chose Richard Eynon as 1st councilor and Thomas Eynon as 2nd. They were set apart Nov 23, 1852 in the Rymney Branch.
