Ralph Raymond Palmer, 79, of 4th Street, Bergholz, died Sunday in St. John Medical Center at Steubenville. Mr. Palmer, who operated the Standard Oil Station in Bergholz for 36 years, was born September 25, 1894 in Carroll County, a son of the late Ross and Daisy (Crumrine) Palmer.
Survivors include his wife, Rosa (Ray) Palmer; two sons, Raymond of Georgetown, South Carolina and Edwin Palmer of Bergholz; two daughters, Miss Hazel Palmer of Scio and Mrs. John (Elsie) McCauley of Mechanicstown; three brothers, Henry of Strasburg, John of Rt. 1, Mechanicstown and Marion Palmer of Bergholz; three sisters, Mrs. Rosa Wade of Alliance, Mrs. Thomas (Nina) Standiford of Uhrichsville and Mrs. Helen Brown of Carrollton; 11 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. A brother, Charles Palmer, a sister, Mrs. Grace Clark and a daughter, Mrs. Edna Powellson, preceded him in death. Services were held Wednesday in the Blackburn Funeral Home at Bergholz with Rev. Dale Urban of Fargis officiating. Burial was in Chestnut Ridge Cemetery.
