John B. Palmer, 84, of 211 Ocelot Rd., Mechanicstown, died Friday in Salem Community Hospital after a short illness. Born in Carroll County, where he lived most of his life, he was a son of the late Ross and Daisy (Crumine) Palmer. He was retired from the former Penn-Central Railroad.
Surviving are his wife, the former Mildred Mae Buxton, whom he married February 8, 1934; a daughter, Mrs. George (Frances) Gardner of Bergholz; a brother and two sisters, Marion of Bergholz, Helen Brown of Harlem Springs and Rosa Wade of Alliance; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Two sisters and three brothers are deceased. Services were held Monday in the Allmon-Dugger Funeral Home in Carrollton with rev. Dwight Devitt officiating. Burial was in Harlem Springs Cemetery.
