Rachel Ann Crumrine, was born in Dark County, Ohio, July 29, 1847 and died at her home near Liberty Center, July 26, 1915, aged sixty-seven years Eleven months and twenty-eight days. When six years of age, she moved with her parents to Warren County, Iowa.
She was married in 1865 to Wm. H. Lake, who died in 1874. To this union was born four daughters, Francis J. Thorn, of New Virginia, Iowa, Martha L. Vincent, of Valley Junction, Iowa, Ida M. Proctor, of Harrison, Nebraska, Minnin M. Turner, of Lacona, Iowa.
She was married May 29, 1874 to Albert A. Davis, of Liberty Center, Iowa. To this union was born one son, John Murry, of Liberty Center.
When about twenty years of age, she was converted and united with the Christian Church. Later she united with the Church of the Brethren, of Osceola, Iowa, in which she remained a faithful member until death.
She was a kind and loving wife and mother and very devoted to her family. Besides a husband, four daughters and one son, the deceased leaves to twenty grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a large circle of friends to mourn her departure.
The funeral was conducted from the home at eleven o'clock Tuesday morning, July 27, 1915, by Rev. W. W. Folger, of Ankeny, Iowa. Text II Samuel 14:14. For we must needs die, and as water spilt on the ground which can not be gathered up again; neither doth God respect any person.
