Phleta's daughter, Phyllis, said her mother's middle name was probably taken from a presiden't family name or the name of a president's wife. She said Grammy Curry was quite a history buff.

We never called her "Phleta"; always Phlete. She was a very classy woman and always smelled of "White Shoulders" perfume. She sewed beautiful tea aprons which were worn often back in the 1940s.
