In Utica, Wis., July 24th, 1880, of chronic gastritis, Mrs. Philura Crandall, widow of the late Daniel B. Crandall, and daughter of Oliver Coon, aged 50 years, 11 months, and 21 days. The subject of this notice was born in Hartsville, N. Y., Aug. 3, 1829, residing there and at Alfred until 1844, when she removed to Albion, Wis., where she remained most of the time until her marriage in 1852. From that time, her home has been at Utica. In 1857, she was baptised by Eld. R. G. Burdick, and united with the Seventh-day Baptist Church, of which she remained a consistent member until death. In her last illness she expressed her willingness to die, but much desired to see her absent daughter. She leaves an aged father, three children, brothers, and a sister to mourn her loss; but they mourn not as those without hope. The funeral took place July 25th. Sermon by Rev. S. H. Babcock, from Job 30: 23. G. W. B.
