Phillip was the last of four Hipskind brothers to immigrate to the United States. On 24 December 1864, he settled in Wabash, Indiana, and worked as a stone mason. He was member of the German Reformed Evangelical Church. He and his wife had eight chldren.

Peter died 3 months after arriving in America. He is probably buried in Falls Cemetery, Wabash. Emigration date: 24 Dec 1864, with his wife and 8 children.

PHILIP was first buried in the original Wabash Cemetery - Hanna Cemetery - on E. Hill Street, then when it was converted to a park, the graves were (mostly) removed to Falls Cemetery.
