    DEATH CLAIMS OLD RESIDENT.
Following an extended period of ill health from a nervous breakdown and complications of disease, Mrs. Barbara Young quietly passed away Tuesday evening about 5:35 o'clock at her home 334 E. Elm street. Barbara Hipskind Young, daughter of Philip and Elizabeth Hipskind, was born February 18, 1853 in Rhein Pfalz Baeirn, Becherbach, Germany. In 1864 with her parents she came to this country and on August 24 1870 she was united in marriage to George Young of Wabash who preceeded her in death two years ago. To this union were born ten children, nine of whom survive, one daughter, Florence having passed away about eight years ago. The deceased was a faithful member of the St. Matthews Evangelical church for a number of years and was also a member of the Maccabee lodge. She leaves to mourn her departure John, Julius and Will Young of Wabash, August, of Alma, Montana; Carl of Olympia, Washington; Henry of Whistler, Alabama; Mrs. Sophia Jones of Wabash; Gertrude Holdermann, of this city; and Ida, of Alma, Montana. Two sisters, Mrs. Philabenna Kramer, of Wabash and Mrs. Fred Rauch of South Bend; one brother, August Hipskind, of this city, also survives. Funeral arrangements will not be announced until the arrival of several of the children.
