Johnson, 1979, RL Bryan Co., Columbia South Carolina, p48. Sarah Standifer said that she was married in Barbour Co., Alabama at her brother Ezekiel's house. Her husband had gone to visit his sister Edaline Dawson Alexander, Pheriba to visit her brother over the Christmas holidays. They fell in love and were married there. Davis Dawson took his bride to his home in Upson Co., Georgia in a buckboard (a two wheeled buggy). She died there in 1898 where she had reared her family. She used the same spot for a garden for 74 years.
