Orpha Whitehill Fowles. wife of the late R. M. Fowles, died Wednesday night at 10 o'clock at her home in West Pike street. She was nearly 8I years of age, having been born at Shippenvillle, Pa., July 19, 1849.
Mrs. Fowles had been in ailing health for several years but had shown marked improvement in recent weeks, so that her death came as a shock to her family and friends.
She is survived by five daughters, the Misses May, Zella Bell and Margaretta at home; Gertrude S. of Wilkinsburg, and Mrs. Winifred F. Snyder, wife of Judge Daniel J. Snyder of Greensburg, Pa.; one son, E. D. Fowles, of Colorado Springs, Colo., and two grandchildren, Eleanor Gertrude Snyder and Daniel J. Snyder, Jr. She is also survived by two brothers, J. P. Whitehill of Arkansas City, Ark., and D. B. Whitehill of Clarendon, Pa.
Funeral services will be conducted from her late home, 339 West Pike street, at 2:30 o'clock (d. s. t.) Saturday. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist church, and the services win be in charge of her pastor. Rev. T. M. Dunkle.
