Research notes
- Per Eldora Waller - Baxter family from Southern Ireland. Came in thru Canada. His Father and 2 brothers worked on the Erie Canal - one brother died while working on the Erie canal. Orin ran with the Dalton gang under a different name. First home in Canby, Yellow Medicine, MN. Then bought a home in Madison, Lac Qui Parle, MN. Then later moved to Johnson, MN.

ORRIN BAXTER SUCCUMBS ON MONDAY MORNING A resident of this vicinity for many years, Orrin Baxter, 82, passed away at the home of his son, Ora, east of town Monday morning following a lingering illness. Funeral arrangements had not been competed yesterday.

O.W. Baxter Passes Away on Monday O.W. Baxter, Sr., a resident of Moonshine township, died at his home Monday morning. He became ill in December from which he did not recover. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon.
