CLARKFIELD -- Mildred Goldie Nyheim Christians, 94, of Clarkfield died Tuesday at Clarkfield Care Center.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hope Reformed Church in Montevideo with the Rev. Tom Hoogendoom officiating. Burial will be in Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be Friday afternoon and evening, with the family from 5 to 7 p.m. and a prayer service at 6:30 p.m., at Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
She was born June 22, 1909, in Maxwell Township, Lac qui Parle County, to Orin and Lillian (Darling) Baxter. She grew up in rural Dawson and attended rural schools.
She married Gustav Nyheim on June 16, 1924, in Montevideo. After he died in 1974, she married Enno Christians on Oct. 1, 1975. She lived in Granite Falls, Wegdahl and Montevideo. She had been a resident of Clarkfield Care Center for the past five years.
She was a member of Hope Reformed Church.
She is survived by three children, Ordell (and Vivian) Nyheim of Canton, Ohio, Darlene (and James) Black of Montevideo, and Paul (and Shirley) Nyheim of Montevideo; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Gordon Baxter of Graceville.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Gustav in 1974 and Enno in 1996; twin grandsons; three great-grandchildren; six sisters; and six brothers.
