Death? 2 Jun 1914 Fostoria, OH - Hancock CO

Nicholas Frankart, according to the 1910 census, lived on Nichols Street, Fostoria, OH., He and his wife Susan were married 20 years as of the 1910 census so I Est they married in 1890. Susan's parent's were also born in Germany. Susan was born in OH, possibly Sencea CO also. I have to do more research, to confirm this statement. In 1910 Nicholas Frankart Jr. was 47 years telling me his est birth date was 1863, possible Seneca Co., OH. His wife Susan was 38 years telling me her est birth date was 1872. According to these figures I have arrived at a possible marriage date of 1890. Nicholas Frankart was a self-employed Shoe Cobbler. He could read and write and he owned his own home free of mortgage. The 1910 census also states that they had (8) children and only (3) were living as of this census. I also have to research this more to see if any of the other (5) children show up on earlier census reports. The census lists Joseph Frankart Est Birth 1891 (1910 census lists him as (19) years of age ) as of May 2, 1910. The census lists Ora Frankart Est Birth 1898 (1910 census lists him as (12) years of age) as of May 2, 1910. Joseph and Ora both could read and write, and Joseph worked as a Laborer, Farm Hand as an employee. Pauline E. Frankart was not listed on this census with her family as she had just got married to Nicholas F. Miller on April 12, 1910. I still am looking in the census records to find them listed on their own. UPDATE MARCH 5, 2001 I have found the obituary for Nicholas Frankart. Nicholas Frankart, Hftv, died at 3:10 a.m. today after an illness since Friday evening with pneumonia at his home at 439 College avenue. Few people knew he had been ill and the announcement of his passing away will be a shock to his many friends. Mr. Frankart was a cobbler and in later years had a shoe repair shop in Ritter's harness shop on South Main street. He was born near New Riegel July 27, 1863, and spent the greatest part of his life in this vicinity. He was one of a family of ten children, seven of whom survive. They are John F. Frankart, of West Independence, Isaac and Sylvestine of Tiffin; Jacob and Andrew of this city, George, of Risingsun, and Mrs. Margaret Ferrel, of Faithtown. The deceased was married to Miss Susan Krantz, of Upper Sandusky, October 15, 1896. She survives with three children: Joseph and Ora, at home; Mrs. Pauline Call, of South Wood Street. Four years following their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Frankart lived near his boyhood home before moving to Putnam CO where they lived fourteen years. They since lived in this city. Mr. Frankart was a member of St. Wendelin's Church and of St. Wendelin's Renevolent society. The pastor, Rev. A. A. Weber will officiate at the funeral services which will be held Thursday morning at 8:30 o'clock from the church. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
