Nicholas was knighted by King Edward VI on 17 November 1549 at Westminster.[3]

Death and Probate

In his will dated 6 February 1559[/60],[2] Sir Nicholas Pelham of Laughton, Sussex, named his oldest son John to be sole executor, and failing his ability to do so, he named his wife Dame Anne to be sole executrix, with oversight by George Goringe, William Morley and John Leighe, Esquires. The will was proved on 31 March 1561[/2].
