He bequeathed £6-13-4 for twenty sermons to be preached in Laughton and nearby parishes. He willed that his three sons William, Frannces and Edwarde were to have £20 yearly out of the lands to be divided equally between them, and his wife to have the same £20 yearly during their nonage. He bequeathed 1,000 marks sterling to be levied upon his woods to the marriage of his five daughters Brygett, Margaret, Mary, Anne and Jane, and to be divided equally among them. He also bequeathed his best gelding to John Donynysshe. His wife Mary was given the residue of all his “goodes, debts, stuffe and substannce”, and she was named the executrix of his will. The will was proved on 14 January 1538[/9] in London.
