Moreau Stone

    Moreau Stone, 89, died Thursday morning, Feb. 22, 1979, at Sunset Nursing Home in Maysville.  A native of Galax, Va., Miss Stone lived most of her life in the St. Joseph area. She was a schoolteacher and a member of the Church of Christ.  She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and four brothers.  Miss Stone is survived by one brother, Ed Stone of Hamilton, and several nieces and nephews.
    The funeral was Saturday at Bram Funeral Home in Hamilton.  Burial was in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.

    Miss Moreau Stone, 89, passed away Thursday morning, Feb. 22, 1979, at the Sunset Nursing Home in Maysville, Missouri. She was born on December 25, 1890 to LeGrande and Julia Anne Kathryn (Edwards) Stone in Galax, Virginia.  In 1904, her family moved to Caldwell County, Missouri.
    She prepared herself for teaching in the St. Joseph schools and taught in the St. Joseph school system.  Later she returned home and took care of her parents until they passed away. Moving to California afterward she again taught school.  When she returned to the St. Joseph area she resided in the Memorial Home several years until her health failed, in 1978.
    She spent her life teaching and helping others. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and four brothers.
    Survivors are one brother, Edward Stone of Hamilton, Mo. and 27 nieces and nephews. She will be missed by these loved ones and a host of friends.
