[edit] ===================================OBITUARY FROM THE LOCAL NEWSPAPER "Mila Staats died Tuesday, February 25, 1902 at the home of her son-in-law, William Bailey, near Big Sand Lake. Mrs Mila Staats was 88 years old. The deceased was a native of New York state, and came with her son-in-law to Hubbard County from Elbow Lake in Otter Trail County about a year ago. She has been a constant member of the Methodist Episcopal Church for over 50 years. Her death was the result of injuries received from a fall several weeks ago. The funeral was at the house Thursday, conducted by Rev. S. D. Kremerer."
