The first evidence of Amasa Robinson in Oneida County, New York, is a land deed in book #260, page 49, dated the twenty sixth day of September, 1814, written as follows: "This Indenture made the Twenty Sixth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fourteen Between Richard Harison, Bertram Peter Cruger, David B. Ogden, Thomas Ludlow Ogden, Rudolph Bunner and Elizabeth his wife of the first part by Benjamin Wright their atty constituted and appointed by a power under their hands and seals bearing date February 4, 1813 duly acknowledged and recorded in the clerks office of Oneida County executed by the said Rudolph and Elizabeth June 23rd 1813 the said Richard and Bertram being Trustees of the Estate of the said Elizabeth and the said David and Thomas being Trustees of the Estate of John B. Church for certain creditors named or described in a certain Indenture dated 29th June 1811 and Amasa Robinson of the Town of Bengal in the County of Oneida and State of New York of the second part Witnesseith that the said parties of the first part for an in consideration of the sum of One Hundred and thirty five dollars current money of the United States to them in hand paid by the said party of the second part the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold remised released aliened and confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain sell remise release alien and confirm unto the said party of the second part in his actual possession non being and to his heirs and assigns forever all that certain tract piece or parcel of land situated lying and being in the County of Oneida and State of New York known and destinguished as part of Lot No 25 in Township No 9 in the Tract commonly called Rosebetts purchase on Scribas Patent bounded and described as follows towit. Beginning at the South East corner of Lot No. 25 aforesaid and runs from thence North 21 degrees East along the East line of the lot 14 chains 51 links to the corner of land deeded to Oliver Gibbons thence North 69 degrees West 20 chains 68 links to a stake thence South 21 degrees West 14 chains 51 links to the South line of said lot No 25 thence South 69 degrees East along said line 20 chains 68 links to the place of beginning containing 30 acres of land together with all the singular the hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining and all the estate right title interest claim and demand of the said parties of the first part and of each of them both in lan and equity of in and to the premises hereby conveyed To have and to hold the above granted and bargained premises unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns to the sole and only proper use benefit and behoof of the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever. And the said Richard Harison, Bertram Peter Crugen, David B. Ogden, Thomas Ludlow Ogden and Rudolph Bunner severally and respectively each for himself doth covenant promise and agree to and with the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns that he hath not in any way or manner whatsoever charged or encumbered the lands and premises hereby conveyed or any part thereof and the same against all and every person and persons lawfully claiming or to claim the said premises or any part thereof by from or under them respectively will by these presents from Warrant and Defend. In Witness whereof the Parties to these Presents have hereunto interchangably set their hands and seals the day and year first above written. State of New York. Be it remembered that on the Fourth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Sixteen. Peter Gibbons one of the subscribing witnesses to the within deed being duly sworn saith that he saw Benjamin Wright execute the said deed as Attorney for the within named Richard Harison, Bertram T. Cruger, David Boyden, Thomas S. Ogden, Rudolph Bunner and Elizabeth Bunner and heard him the said Benjamin Wright acknowledged that he executed the same as attorney as aforesaid for the uses and purposes therein mentioned and finding therein no material interlineations or erasures fallon the same to be recorded.

In 1823 Amasa purchased land from his brother-in-law, Warren Gibbons. The contract read as follows:

"THIS INDENTURE, made the fifth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty three between Warren Gibbons & Mehitabel his wife, of the town of Vienna county of Oneida & state of New York of the first part, and Amesa Robeson of the town county & state aforesaid. Witnesseth, That the said parties of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of ONE DOLLAR of good and lawful monies of the United States to them in hand paid by the said party of the second part, the receipt whereof is hereby confessed acknowledged, have granted, burgained, sold, remised, released, aliened, and confirmed: and by these presents, do grant, bargain, sell, remise, release, alien, and confirm, unto the said party of the second part, in his actual possession now being and to his heirs and assigns for ever, all of that certain piece of land being & lying in the town of Vienna in township no. nine known and distinguished as being a part of Lot no. twenty five scribes patent beginning at the south west corner of land deeded to Amesa Robeson running thence north hg to west along the center of the highway two chanes fifty links to a stake thence north 30 degrees east four chaines to a stake then south 69 degrees east two chanes to a stake thence south 21 west 4 chaines to a stake at the place of beginning containing one hundred and forty seven square rods. Together with all and singular the hereditaments and appertenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining and the reversion and reversions, remainder and remainders, rents, issues, and profits thereof; and all the estate, rights, title, interest, claim, and demand whatsoever, of the said parties of the first part, either in law or equity, of, in, and to the above bargained premises, with the hereditaments and appertenances. To have and to hold the said above mentioned premises to the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns to the sole and only proper use, benefit, and behoof of the said party of the second party, his heirs and assigns, for ever. And the said Warren Gibbon and his wife Mehitabal of the first part, for these heirs, executors and administrators, do covenant, grant bargain, promise and agree, to and with the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, the above bargained premises in the quiet and peaceable possession of the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, against all and every person or persons, lawfully claiming or to claim the whole or any part of the above mentioned and described premises, will for ever warrant and defend. In Witness whereof, the said parties of the presents have hereunto interchangeably set their hands and seals the day and year first above written. Signed, sealed and delivered s/ Warren Gibbons (S.S.) s/ Mehetabel Gibbons (S.S.) in the presence of Samuel Morse State of NewYork Oneida County. SS on this twentieth day of August in the year of our Lord 1823, before me personally came Warren Gibbons and Mehitable his wife the within named grantors to me known to be the persons named in and who executed the within Deed the said Warren Gibbons acknowledged that he executed the within Deed freely for all the uses and purposes therein specified the said Mehitabel, his wife on a private examination acknowledged that she executed the within Deed freely and voluntarily without any fear or confoultion from her said husband these being no erasuses or interlining follow the same to be recorded. Amasa died in 1833. Apparently he knew he was dying as he made the following Will:

WILL OF AMASA ROBERTSON (The lawyer spelled it Robertson, but it is signed Amasa Robinson)

Know all men by these presents that I, Amasa Robertson of the town of Vienna, County of Oneida and state of New York, do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner following. One. I give and bequeath to my wife, Mila Robertson, the use of one third of all my real and personal estate during the time she shall remain my widow and no longer. I also give to eldest son, Derick Robertson, the sum of fifty cents. I also give and bequeath to my second son, Jacob B. Robertson, and my third son, Amasa Robertson, Junior, the remainder of my real and personal estate on the following condition: they pay to my eldest daughter Mila H. Robertson, the sum of twenty dollars when she shall arrive at age twenty one next they shall also pay like sum to my second daughter Marietta Robertson when she shall arrive at age of twenty one years they shall also pay to my third daughter Rhoda Robertson the sum of ten dollars when she shall arrive at the age of twenty one years they shall also provide sufficient food and clothing for Zenanah, Louis, Edmund, Joseph and Eliza Maria being the remainder of my children until they shall severally arrive at the age of fourteen years and they shall also give them severally three months schooling in each year until they arrive at the above written age on their fulfilling above conditions they shall be entitled to the above bequests but if they shall fail or neglect to fulfill they shall forfeit their share in the above bequests. I do also ordain that when my wife Mila Robertson shall either marry or die that her third of the property shall belong to the above named Jacob B. and Amasa Robertson Junior equally. I do also nominate constitute and appoint my wife Mila Robertson and my second son Jacob B. Robertson my executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all other wills by me heretofore made. I witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this third day of June in the year of Our Lord one Thousand Eight Hundred thirty three. s/ Amasa Robinson L. S.

Petition to the court signed July 8, 1833 by Jacob B. Robinson states that the following are heirs of Amasa Robinson, and no others. Mila Robinson, the widow, resides in Vienna, Oneida County. Derrik Robinson resides in Jefferson County; Zenanah Robinson age about 11 years resides in Jefferson County. Jacob B. Robinson resides in Vienna, Oneida County. Amasa Robinson resides in Vienna, Oneida County for twenty years in April last part. Mila H. Robinson resides in Vienna age about 18 years. Marietta Robinson age about 16 years. Rhoda Robinson age about 13 years. Louis Robinson age about 8 yrs. Edmund Robinson age about 6 years. Joseph Robinson age about 4 years. Eliza Maria Robinson age about 1 year old.

Signed by Jacob B. Robinson, executor. July 8, 1833 The Oaths of Jacob and Mila, as executors of his estate, read as follows:

"Oneida County, Surogate Court. I, Jacob Robinson do swear that I will honestly and faithfully discharge my duty as executor of the Last Will & Testament of Amasa Robinson, deceased, according to law . Signed & Sealed to this 16 day of September 1833 before me, A. Bemule, Surogate. Signed: Jacob B. Robinson.

"Oneida County Surogate Court. I Mila Robinson do swear that I will honestly and faithfully discharge my duty as executor of the last Will and Testament of Amasa Robinson, deceased - according to law. Signed & Sworn to this 16th day of September 1833 before me, A. Bemule, Surgate Signed: Mila Robinson.
