The first time we find Michael he is living with his parents in the 1851 Census in Waterloo Co Ontario Canada. He was born in Germany and is listed as 10 years old. The next census in 1861 he is living with Anthony & Elizabeth (Mier) Massel in Waterloo Co and is 19 years old. On Dec 21 1863 Michael purchased land in Culross Bruce Co Ontario on the same lot as Anthony Massel. We found Michael listed in the 1867 County of Bruce Directory next to Anthony Massel and William Meir. Michael is listed in the 1871 Census (age 34 with wife Genoefer. In 1881 Burce Co Ontario we found Michael (age 40) and wife Genonfa and Katherine (age 81 most likely his mother). In 1891 Genefefa Mier is listed as living with the Scherback family she is 48 and listed as a Domestic. (Maybe her brother) The ages seem to vary by a few years. There is a death record for Michael Mier age 41 born Germany in Formosa Bruce Co Ontario. There are no parents listed. Due to the fact that the spelling of the name Mier/Meir is not that common and there are no others by that name that fit we know this man to be a brother to William and Justus. Michael is also listed as the Godfather of Michael Mier son of Justus Mier. Original Baptismal Record held by Barbara Gleason descendant of Justus. The Godmother is Elizabeth Massel.
