Michael, the 2nd son, inherited Wellshot House, Cambuslang (Old country houses of the old Glasgow gentry). From "Seekers of truth: the scottish founders of modern public accountancy": Lt. Col. Michael Rowand Gray-Buchanan OBE of Ettrickdale, Glasgow, was a china merchant; he had 4 sons including Frederic Guy Gray-Buchanan, Lt. Commander, Royal Navy. Michael Rowand Gray Buchanan, of Ettrickdale ( 9 Sep 1846-16 Dec 1933) married 1877 Frederica Stuart (d.18jun1936), daughter of Henry Stuart (1jan1808-19may1880) and Cecilia Hammersley (d. 28feb1890) of the Crichton Stuart family (Marquesses of Bute) (thepeerage).
