Interment Brown's Wonder Cemetery, Lebanon. Surviving, 2 grandchildren. !OBITUARY; Lafayette Journal and Courier; May 7, 1989 Max M. Bowen, 80, a former Lafayette area resident, died Friday in Parkwood Healthcare Center in Lebanon. He had been a patient there one month. Mr. Bowen worked for Winkler Heating in Lebanon for some time and later owned his own business, Bowen's Plumbeing and Heating. After retiring in 1877, he was a building inspector for the city of Lebanon for 8 years. Born in Kendallvile, June 6, 1908, he graduated from Klondike High School iin 1927 and from Purdue University where he majored in mechanical engineering. He had lived in the Lebanon are for the past 50 years. His marriage was to Ruth Park, April 15, 1934, in Lebanon. She survives. Mr. Bowen was a member of the Baptist Church in West Lafayette; Eagles Lodge in Lebanon; Scottish Rite, Valley of Indianapolis; and Indiana Building Association. He also was a member and past master of Lebanon Masonic Lodge. Surviving with his wife are a son, Tom Bowen of Lebanon; and two sisters, Ruth Kimball of Fort Wayne and June Purdy of Madison, CT.
