!MARRIAGE; Park - Bowen; April 15, 1934 Lovely Wedding Levely in its simplicity was the wedding of Miss Cora Ruth Park, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. T. Park of this city, and Max Maurice Bowen, son of M. M. Bowen of Lafayette, which occurred Sunday afternoon at 12:15 o'clock in the First Baptist church in Anderson. The impressive double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. E. Smith, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Anderson. The charming bride's maid of honor was Miss Mary Neal of this city and Herman Park, brother of the bride, was the groomsman. "Ah, Sweet Mystery of Life" was played by Mrs. Ruth Hawkins for the entrance of the bridal party. During the ceremony "At Dawning" was beautifully rendered and "I Love You Truly" was played for the recessional. The bride was lovely in a charmingly simple gown of navy blue triple crepe with white trim and matching accessories. She carried a gorgeous bouquet of tea roses. Miss Neal wore an attractive poudre blue crepe with dark blue accessories and a beautiful corsage of blue sweet peas and forget-me-nots. Mrs. Bowen is a graduate of Lebanon high school and Sanderson Business college in Indianapolis. She is employed in the Parr and Parr law offices at the present time. Mr. Bowen attended Purdue and Tri State College. He is a civil engineer. The newlyweds left for a wedding trip to Knox City, MO. Among the guests were Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Stephenson, Mr. and Mrs. Oris Harlan, Miss Lucille Edens, Miss LaVerne Harlan, Devaughn Harlan, Memory Miller, Miss Betty E. Hawkins, Mr. and Mrs. A. T. Park, Mrs. Ruth Hawkins, and Charles Butner, all of Lebanon, Mr. and mrs. Kenneth McConkey and daughter and Mrs. C. O. Powell of Indianapolis, Chalres Ewing of franklin, the Misses Ruth and June Bowen of Lafayette and Robert Kimball of Lafayette. |
