Obit in Argus-Dispatch, Rock Island, 3/31[95 BU-IL 53]. “Maude Lawson Services for Maude A. Lawson, 92, of 1209 21St Ave, Rock Island,, are 2 p.m. Saturday at Friendship Manor Chapel, Rock Island. Burial is in Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock island. There is no visitation. Memorials may be made to South Park Presbyterian Church or Kings Daughters, both of which she was a member. Hodgson Funeral Home, Ltd., Rock Island, is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Lawson died Thursday, March 30, 1995, at Silver Cross Nursing Center, Rock Island. The former Maude A. Burch was born Oct. 3, 1902, in Metz, Ind., the daughter of Ellsworth F. and Mabel Gertrude Eichelberger Burch. She married Hugh Lawson Nov. 17, 1923, in Ainsworth, Iowa. He died Dec. 19, 1971. She attended Augustana College and University of Iowa. She and her husband owned the former Lawson Tax Service, Rock Island. She was a member of Altrusa Club, Rock Island. Survivors include grandchildren, Sandy Geddes, Geneva, Ill., and Linda Champion, Glenside, Pa.; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Elsa McBride, Rock Island; and seven nieces and nephews.
