A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Edward Baine Combs and the daughter of Mr. Martin Everett Graves and Mrs.. Millie Isley Graves, both deceased. She was a member of Davis Street United Methodist Church and was retired from A.O. Smith Inc. Survivors include a son, Mr. Michael Edward Combs of Pinehurst; a sister, Mrs.. Dovie Graves Scott of Burlington; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Brenda Combs Payne; two sisters, Mrs. Ava Graves Rich and Mrs.. Lucille Graves Tingen; five brothers, Mr. Lester Graves, Mr. Herman Graves, Mr. Algie Graves, Mr. Howard Graves and Mr. Virgil Graves; and one grandchild. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Alamance Memorial Park, Burlington, Alamance County, North Carolina by the Rev. Michael Hobbs, pastor of Davis Street United Methodist Church. The family will be at Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 7 to 9 this evening, and at other times at the home of the son-in-law, Mr. Gene Payne, 2523 N.C 62 North in Burlington. References
