1837 June 15, MARY JANE JONES md. WILLIAM WASHINGTON DAWSON, Fountain Co., IN (Does this 1837 Fountain Co. marriage record include a parent's consent? AND name the parent as well?)

MARY JONES, dau. of EVAN W. JONES, would have been age 16 in June 1837 (I have no idea in the world where my mother collected the names and dates for Mary, her siblings, her parents, or for numerous Wilkinsons, but that source is desperately searched for and needed).

1841 Feb. 18, MARY JANE DAWSON md. JAMES LOVE, Fountain Co., IN

Quite some time after Mary Dawson died about 1851, James took his family back to Illinois. Mary was buried at the little cemetery at the Temperanceville Methodist Church. --Linton E. Love <love2057@@rogers.com>, Our Love Families, http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~linlove/Page1%20Love.htm

For several years we assumed, without proof, that our elusive JANE LOVE (1842-1893) of the Civil War letters was a dau. of MARY JANE JONES DAWSON LOVE and her second husband, JAMES LOVE, and that MARY JANE was a dau. of EVAN W. JONES, which meant that JANE LOVE in the letters was indeed a cousin (first cousin once removed) to TIGHLMAN JONES and to ADA WYCKOFF, and the REBECCA DAWSON in the letters would probably be JANE LOVE's older half-sister. Then EVAN LOVE was found enumerated with his first cousin, SYLVESTER WILKINSON, in the 1880 Texas census, and Donna McCoy's numerous posts on the Love Message Board at RootsWeb were discovered. The final puzzle pieces fell into place when Brenda found the JAMES LOVE family in the 1860 U.S. census that enumerated the entire family but without the children's mother, or her first child, REBECCA DAWSON, and finally the 1851 Canadian census transcription online for the entire family.

Jane C. Love departed from this live March 18th 1893. Aged 50 years. Came to Jasper County, Illinois to live September 3, 1863 / J.C.
