Mary was unmarried in 1878 (old country houses of the old Glasgow gentry). Scottish archives have the will of Mary Donald, sometime residing at Glasgow, afterwards at Marion Lodge, Helensburgh, daughter of the late Colin Dunlop Donald, writer, Glasgow, died 24jan1886 at Glasgow, reg. Dumbarton 15apr1886. Mary, born abt 1826, is on the 1841 census at St. Enochs Sq., Glasgow. In 1851 Mary (b. 1824) probably visited her sister Janet Dunlop at Tollcross House (census). Mary, b. 1824 at Glasgow, lived at 179 Bath St., Glasgow, with her cousins Wm. Stirling, retired merchant, b. 1812 at Glasgow, Chas. Stirling, retired merchant, b. 1815 at Glasgow and Charlotte L. Stirling, b. 1818 at Glasgow, in 1881 (census). The cousins were children of William Stirling and Margaret Hamilton Ritchie.
