m. 1 May 1735
Facts and Events
Martha Worcester's origins have yet to be established. Her first confirmed sighting is on 1st May 1735 when she was married at Kensworth (then in Hertfordshire) to a Jephtha Welsh. They went on to have six children between 1736 and 1748, although one died 1745 without having being been baptised, and the youngest, Thomas, died as a baby in 1748. It seems that Martha and Jephtha's three daughters married in Kensworth between 1759 and 1764. Their first known grandchild was born in 1761. Jephtha was buried at Kensworth on 12th December 1782. He and Martha had been married for 47 years. She outlived him by less than six months, being buried at Kensworth on 23rd May 1783. References
