m. 1 May 1735
Facts and Events
Jephtha Welsh's origins have yet to be established. His first confirmed sighting is on 1st May 1735 when he was married at Kensworth (then in Hertfordshire) to a Martha Worcester. They went on to have six children between 1736 and 1748, although one died 1745 without having being been baptised, and the youngest, Thomas, died as a baby in 1748. It seems that Jephtha and Martha's three daughters married in Kensworth between 1759 and 1764. Their first known grandchild was born in 1761. Jephtha was buried at Kensworth on 12th December 1782. He and Martha had been married for 47 years. She outlived him by less than six months. References
