According to 'Descendants of William Shankland', Mary Ann and Joseph had Martha Luella, 1851-1935, who married Francis Henry Huff in 1866. According to an IGI record, Francis (1847-1927) was the son of William Huff and Elizabeth Stickrod. Frank and Martha had children Millard 1871-1878, Mary 1878, Clarence J. 1882-1901; and George M. 1869-1914.

 In the 1870 census for Moorefield, Nicholas Co., Kentucky, Frank Huff is 23, born Kentucky, 'blk smith'; with wife Martha L. 19; and children George 3 and Lillie 10 months -- all born Kentucky. {p. 283} NOTE: There is a Wm Huff 54, also a blacksmith, on the same page with his family.
 In the 1880 census for Moorefield, Frank Huff is a blacksmith 33; wife Martha is 28; and children are George 12, and Mary 1. Caroline Potts, 11, black, is a servant.  All born Kentucky, parents same. {Page 460A}
 In the 1900 census for Carlisle, Nicholas Co., Kentucky, Frank Huff is 53, b. May 1847, married 32 years, blacksmith; with wife Martha 49, born Aug 1850, with 3 of 3 children living; children are George 30, b. Aug 1869, widowed, 'grocery merchant'; May 21, born Oct 1878, single; and Clarence 17 b. Oct 1882 -- all born Kentucky, parents same. {ed 108, sh 8b, p. 310}
 In the 1910 census for district 4, Nicholas Co., Kentucky, Frank H. Huff is 64, married once for 44 years, 'farmer - home farm'; with wife Martha 54, married once with 2 of 5 children living. both born Kentucky, parents same.
 In 1920, Frank 71 is 'keeper - livery stable' living with Martha 67 in Carlisle.
 In the Carlisle Cemetery, there are records for Clarence Huff 1882-1901, Francis H. 1847-1927, and Mattie L. 1851-1935.
